Couch to 5k: Week 7 (and plans for week 8)

C25k participants had their first taste of 'trail' running for the first session of week 7, completing a 25 minute run in Garendon Park and along Blackbrook Way back to Jubilee Park. Despite a downpour, everyone enjoyed the route through the beautiful countryside, and all completed the session in good form! For Week 8 on Thursday 25th May, we return to road running, meeting in High Street, Quorn (outside Quorn School Rooms & opposite The Quorndon Fox, LE12 8DT) for a 5 minute walk, then 28 minutes of running. Free parking is available at Station Road car park LE12 8BP (just around the corner). Couch to 5k: Week 6 (and plans for week 7)

Our final group session of jogging and walking took place at Darwin Crescent park on Thursday 11th May, supported by PRC Run Leaders and volunteers.  The groups progress was clear to see - well run everyone!  Thank you to Justin for leading the warm up and Nigel for the stretches. Week 7 commences on Thursday 18th May at 6.30pm, when we will meet at Jubilee Park, Buckingham Drive, Loughborough LE11 4TE.  After a dynamic warm up and brisk 5 minute warm up walk, we will be heading into beautiful Garendon Park for the evenings session of a 25 minute jog.    Parking is available on surrounding streets (but please park with sensitivity to local residents), or at Morisson's supermarket/Gorse Covert Community Centre car park - walk across the footbridge into Jubilee Park.…

Well done to the C25k runners who completed 15 minutes of running this week, and a freezing cold evening with an arctic wind! Week 6 begins on Thursday 11th May at 6.30, meeting at Darwin Crescent park as before.  Don't forget that Paula and I will be running a joint 'homework' run on Tuesday 9th May at 6.30pm at Darwin Crescent Park - all are welcome to join us for our first 20 minute continuous run.
