Congratulations to Dale Price and Tracey Abbott for both completing fantastic times in the Auckland Marathon! Dale completed in 3 hours 30 minutes (and 26 seconds) to come 222nd place (out of 1,626) Tracey did 3 hours 44 minutes 32 seconds - 360th place overall, but 51st female out of 500. Congratulations Tracey - you got your Good For Age time for the London Marathon (If you guys ever come back north!)

Couch to 5k week 7 – and plans for week 8

Couch to 5k runners took over the centre of Quorn for the first run of week 7 - completing a 5 minute walk followed by 25 minutes of running!  What an amazing group - such enthusiasm and determination!! Week 7 is the penultimate week of the Couch to 5k course - once again we will be meeting at The Quorndon Fox, 46 High Street QUORN LE12 8DT.  Free car parking is available on Station Road Car Park (LE12 8BP) - next to Quorn Medical Centre - but please car share where possible.   Our 2.5 mile route has the option of being extended for the faster runners.  See you there!!                   There will be a group 'homework' run on Sunday 30th October at 10.00 at Darwin Crescent Park (LE11 5SA)  - don't forget the clocks…

Couch to 5k week 6 – and plans for week 7

Fantastic running from the C25k team as the first run (18 minutes of running) of week 6 was completed! Stick to the homework schedule and that 5k goal will be achieved! Next week (Wednesday 26th October) will see a change of venue - meeting at 6.30pm outside The Quorndon Fox, 46 High Street, Quorn LE12 8DT which is opposite Rawlins Academy.  Free parking is available around the corner at Station Road car park LE12 8BP (just in front of Quorn Medical Centre), but please car share where possible. Couch to 5k week 5 – and plans for week 6

Despite a cold and drizzly night a huge crowd of runners completed the first run of week 5, ably supported by Poplar Running Club volunteers. Confidence is growing by the week! The meeting place for Week 6 will be the same - in front of Toby Carvery on the corner or Forest Road and Holt Drive.  Parking is tight (see previous post) - so please allow plenty of time to find parking in adjacent streets and car share where possible.  Join the run leaders and volunteers after the run for a drink and chat at the Toby Carvery.
